Course History:

This course is very well maintained and offers a beautiful round of golf that is quiet and undisturbed. Serious players love this course since they can really concentrate on their game. With nearly 6700 yards, this Par 71 course is more than challenging but still fun for players of all skill levels. The main problem area for most players are the marshes, which we’ll get into below.

What You Need to Know:

This is a friendly course but there are some rules that you will need to follow. It’s best to wear soft spikes and appropriate golf attire, such as slacks and a collared shirt. Their website contains the entire document of their house rules and we recommend reading that before you visit the course.

The pro shop is incredibly well stocked and offers a wide selection of apparel and equipment. It’s a great place to go gift shopping for other golfers as well. Club fittings are offered and you can also get lessons at this course. The driving range opens early and they have some top notch practice facilities.

The club house is open from 6am to 8am and offers meals throughout the day. They also provide special event catering. The course is a favorite destination for many events and tournaments throughout the year, so you may want to call ahead to see what’s going on ahead of time. You can book your tee time by calling the number listed above. The course is also the home for the popular Empire Ranch Men’s Golf Club.

Playing Hints:

This is a fairly straightforward course, but due to the marshes, you’re going to want to be as accurate as possible. It’s really a nightmare to get stuck in one, so do all that you can to stay towards the center of the fairway. The first hole is an easy par four, but the second is a par three that is actually quite challenging.

You’ll want to save up your energy for the par 5 seventh hole since this one is a real killer. The back nine is just as challenging, but you’ll have a nice par three at the end where you can easily birdie if you get your tee shot right.

Course History:

This course was designed by Keith Foster and is considered to be one of the more unique courses in the area. This is not a course you’ll only want to play once. After you finish your first round, chances are, you’ll be coming back again and again.

Since it opened in 2002, it has been showered with accolades. Golf Magazine named it in the top ten Courses You Can Play while Golf Digest stated it was one of the most affordable public courses in the area. The 7000 yard Par 72 course was designed with the elements in mind and they worked very hard to leave the natural beauty of the location in place. The result is a visually stunning course that is challenging and fun to play.

What You Need to Know:

This course does have a dress code and they ask that you wear a collared shirt. They do however allow dress denim, but no cutoffs please. No alcohol or coolers are allowed on the course. The club house does serve plenty of food and drink so you can stock up there.

You can register your tee time up to thirty days in advance by calling the number listed above. You can also book your tee time using their online registration system. This course is home to numerous events throughout the year, so it is a good idea to check with the course to make sure it is available.

The practice facilities are incredible here and very popular. The pro shop has all the latest gear and apparel and lessons are also available. This is definitely a course that you should make time to visit.

Playing Hints:

The holes here are pretty straightforward and well suited to both professionals and novices. Water hazards are kept to a minimum and include a creek that goes through several holes. However, it is not terribly wide so it does not pose a problem for most players. The bunkers however are another matter entirely. Choose your approach shot well or you could end up deeply in the hole.

The rough is incredibly rough on this course so you’re going to want to really work on your accuracy. Try to stay as close to the center of the fairways as possible, but watch out for the trees. They can throw off even the best players.

The eighth hole is possibly one of the most challenging on the course. You’ll be hopping over the rough to get to each section of the fairway and another patch separates the green. Do your best to get a really long drive off the tee and then use your nine iron to make it on to the green from there.
