Course History:

The course was designed by Marion Hollins and Dr. Alistair MacKenzie. Its name means “relaxed passage of time” and there is no better way to describe this course. It is very rich in history and is considered to be one of the most prestigious courses in California.

What You Need to Know:

There is a dress code at this course. Metal spikes are not allowed. If you do show up in them, the staff will help you replace them with soft spikes. Shorts are allowed, but must not be cutoffs. No denim is allowed on the course. No tank tops or tee shirts are allowed, and men and women must both wear collared shirts with sleeves. No suggestive clothing will be allowed on the course.

Tee times may be affected by tournaments. This is a very busy course. It is necessary to book your times either online or by phone. We’ve included a brief tournament schedule for you below since it can be difficult to gauge when the course will be available.

A professional practice facility is available on the course, as well as a driving range. The on-site pros also offers lessons privately or to groups, but these must be scheduled in advance. Caddies can also be hired, and are available by phoning the pro-shop ahead of time.

The course is very hilly, but walking it is fairly easy and encouraged. Carts are available for an additional fee. You can learn more about the course and take a virtual tour right at their website.

Course History:

The course is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the area. It may be a bit short, but it is certainly challenging enough for even the best players. The varied terrain and beautiful scenery have made it a favorite among locals and travelers for many years.

What You Need to Know:

You can book your tee times online, or by using their automated phone system. Please note that reservations can be made up to thirty days in advance. Tournament booking is also available. Please contact the course by phone or you can use their online form to request more information.

If you are not a resident of the county, but plan to stay for awhile, you can purchase a special discount card for $100 that will get you the special county card rates mentioned below. Residents can purchase one for $50.

The DeLaveaga Golf Lodge Restaurant has been in business for more than 25 years and offers a gorgeous view of the course and the surrounding area. It has been a favorite among residents since it opened. Breakfast and lunch are served, and booking is available for parties. Business meetings can also be hosted at the club restaurant.

The pro shop offers club fittings for $20 and has all the latest top brand golf merchandise. If you decide to purchase clubs after a fitting, the price of the fitting will be deducted from the overall cost of the clubs. If you don’t need to be fitted for a complete set, the cost for fitting is $50.

The course offers training in the method known as “Functional Golf.” You can learn more at the http://www.functionalgolf.com/ website. Students of all ages are encouraged to participate. You can register for a course online, as well as watch several complimentary videos.

The golf club offers online scoring so you can see how well you are doing compared to other members. They host numerous events and tournaments and offer a scholarship program for young golfers. If you are a member of the club, you will be eligible to get discounts on your tee times as well as many other special benefits. Through the months of April to August, you can take part in their Tuesday Twilight Nine Hole Tourney which also features a free bbq at the end of the round.
