San Ramon Golf Club
San Ramon Golf Club is located in: San Ramon, CA

Course History:
San Ramon Golf Club is a public course that is in easy driving distance from most large cities in the bay area. It’s a beautiful course that features pretty low rates with some great service. A favorite among locals and travelers, this a fun course to relax on. It’s suitable for both professionals and novices and has quite a bit to offer the weekday or weekend golfer.
What You Need to Know:
It’s a good idea to follow basic course etiquette when it comes to the dress code. Although the club does not specifically state that they do require specific items, it’s always best to wear a collared shirt and trousers. We also recommend soft spikes for this course.
The pro shop is completely stocked with all of the best name brand gear and if you need to rent a set of clubs, you’ll be surprised at the quality of the clubs. Some courses really skimp on this feature, but San Ramon offers very nice rental clubs for all golfers. The restaurant features a great snack bar as well as lunch and it’s a favorite among locals, even if they don’t golf.
The course frequently runs specials on their website, so it’s always a good idea to take a look before you book your tee time. Although they do not yet have an online tee time booker, you can book ahead by calling the club house.
Lessons are also available at the club and the instructors are patient and well trained. Overall, this is a very nice golf club and one that shouldn’t be too hard for most players to master with a little practice.
Playing Hints:
The water hazards are the main issue with this course, so you’ll want to come prepared with your best game. However, this course is a lot of fun to play and they manage to keep the difficulty level just right so that novices aren’t overwhelmed and professionals aren’t bored.
The short par 3 on the second hole can easily be birdied with a little practice, and the long par five on the sixth hole is a great place to catch up on your score. The par fours are all pretty straightforward, minus the water hazards, so if you have a decent amount of skill, you should be able to get a birdie on at least a few. The back nine is also pretty easy to play, but watch out for the fourteenth hole. It’s a deceptively easy par three that can really put a kink in your score.
