Course History:
Las Positas was designed by Robert Muir Graves and first opened in 1966. It features two walk-able courses, including one 18 hole course and one 9 hole course. The area is extremely scenic and a round of golf here is incredibly relaxing. There aren’t many hills and while it’s not overly difficult, professional players can still get a good challenge here.
What You Need to Know:
Tee times can be registered by calling ahead or by visiting their website to use their online reservation system. Lessons are offered by the on-site pro and junior golf clinics are also available.
The DeBennedetti Golf Shop is stocked with all the latest gear and frequently runs special Demo Days where you can try out all the new equipment. Please check their website for more information about these events.

Tournaments are held at the course frequently and they feature a schedule online where you can see which events are coming up next. Playing Hints:
The second hole is a great par five that is easy enough to eagle if you are a pro, or birdie if you are a novice. The seventh hole is deceptively easy, but you’ll need to work to make par here. The eighth hole is quite a challenge at a long par five, but if you can power it right off the tee you have a good chance to make birdie.
The twelfth hole is a real challenge as well, no matter what level of player you may be. It doesn’t get much easier either. Save up your strength for the long par five on the eighteenth hole, this is a great place to make up lost ground on your score.

Course History:
This course is located less than an hour from San Francisco and was designed by Greg Norman. He picked the location for the course himself and oversaw the entire process. The PGA National Tour has stopped by the course on numerous occasions and it offers a challenging but fun round of golf for everyone.
What You Need to Know:
The course does have a few rules that you will need to follow. First, collared shirts are the only shirts considered acceptable for both men and women. Sleeved golf shirts would be your best bet. Denim is strictly forbidden, but slacks or appropriate shorts are acceptable. The course also has a no metal spike rule, so please change your spikes before coming. All people on the course must have clubs, and rentals are available for $45.
Tee times can be reserved up to two weeks in advance and you can either call or use their online tee time registration system. Remember to please give adequate notice if you need to cancel your reservation.
The grill at the club is spectacular and is open for breakfast until 11am and lunch afterwards. The menu includes classical fare that can be eaten either inside or on the terrace overlooking the fairways. The grill was built in the style of an Australian steak house as an homage to Greg Norman. You’ll get a great view of the 18th green from the clubhouse and you can sit back and relax. Golfers and non-golfers are all welcome. The grill also features a full service bar. Since the course is located at a winery, you may also want to take some time at a wine tasting or take a bottle home with you.
They offer a Stay and Play package for visitors. The club partnered with the nearby Lafayette Park Hotel and Spa and the two have put together some terrific deals for travelers. Packages include a round of golf and start at around $450.
Numerous events are held at the club each year, please check their website for more information and scheduling. You can catch a tournament with the pros or enjoy an open charity invitational. They even have a special event for amateurs that is open to the public. The course is also the host of the Wine Country Championship which is the 5th stop on the PGA tour.
