Course History:
This nine hole golf course offers reasonable rates and a beautiful location, making it a popular course among locals. Whether you just want an executive round or you don’t have enough time to fit in all 18 rounds, this is a great course to visit. Even though the prices are very low, the facilities are top notch and the staff is very helpful.
What You Need to Know:
This is a public course, so the dress code is a little bit more relaxed. We still recommend wearing collared shirts and slacks. The course management does state that all players must abide by USGA rules and they provide a copy of these on their website and on site.
The Adams Spring restaurant and bar are well known in the area and it can get pretty busy at times. They serve breakfast daily and then a special buffet for lunch. The rates are excellent and the food is even better. It’s a good idea to at least stop here once since it is well worth the trip.
Numerous tournaments are actually played here so you may want to call ahead and reserve your tee time at the number we listed above. We’ve also provided direction to the course below since it is tucked away.
Playing Hints:
Don’t let the fact that this course is small fool you, it still offers a great challenge for most golfers. The first hill will really test your confidence since it is by far the toughest hole on the course. It’s all uphill so you’ll really appreciate that cart before long. It is possible to birdie this hole if you are a really strong player, but don’t be to disappointed if you only get a par. It’s quite common on this hole.
It does get a bit easier after the first hole, but not much. The next one you’re going to want to look out for is the fifth hole where it is very difficult to keep to the center of the fairway. Most players end up in the trees here, but if you can control your shot off the tee you’ll have a much easier time of it. The ninth hole features an enormous lake and the management refers to this hole as their “money maker.” You’ll need to really watch out for the narrow fairways and complicated design of this hole. With some practice and a lot of accuracy though, you’ll have it mastered in no time at all.
